# Production readiness

> Conditions required before connecting a real laboratory analyzer.

## Do not connect a real analyzer until

* The vendor interface manual and sample messages have been reviewed.
* Analyzer test codes, units, flags, barcode field, and transport settings are mapped.
* The analyzer's network access is limited to the laboratory VLAN.
* OIE administration is HTTPS/VPN restricted.
* OIE channel exports and database backups are in place.
* Lab staff have completed reconciliation and downtime procedures.
* Results are verified in a monitored pilot before routine clinical use.

Bidirectional orders/worklists should be enabled only after the analyzer confirms its supported order interface.
